Whistlestop discount stores implements Exchequer to drive business growth
Whistlestop Discount Stores, a retailer of goods sold at 99p
or less, has placed an order with systems reseller, Whitegate
Computing, for business and accounting software, valued in the
region of £10,000.
Whitegate Computing will implement Exchequer from IRIS
Enterprise Software in order to provide Whistlestop with an
easy-to-use, future-proof back office system that will control all
of its financial management processes across 18 stores in the
UK.
Whistlestop was particularly impressed with the management
reporting and analysis capabilities within Exchequer. In addition
to the standard reports built into Exchequer, Exchequer has created
unique drill-down capabilities within Microsoft Excel, which means
that Whistlestop is able to produce management reports quickly and
easily and then interrogate this information within a
user-friendly, familiar software environment.

Stores, says, "Exchequer is a well proven financial and business
management product that significantly reduces the administration
workload in the finance function. We have 200,000 customers a week
in our stores so we are processing a high volume of transactions on
any given day. We also expect to open between 12 to 15 new outlets
over the next 12 months and therefore we needed a robust financial
platform that can underpin this growth."
During the next stage of development for its IT systems, Whistlestop is planning to integrate Exchequer with its EPOS systems in order to further streamline business processes and eliminate manual re-keying of data between front and back-office applications. Exchequer will be installed at Whistlestop's head office in
central London using a Microsoft SQL Pervasive server. Exchequer
replaces a Sage Line 100 system.
