Works
Order Processing
Whether you are involved in simply configuring products to order
or you need to manage the assembly of complex products over long
periods of time, Exchequer Enterprise's Works Order Processing (WOP)
provides you with the control and traceability you need to help
you manage the supply of your products on-time and within budget.
WOP is fully integrated with the Enterprise stock control, bill
of materials and financial modules. It also integrates with the
sales and purchase order processing modules if installed, which
provides many more useful features, such as being able to create
a works orders directly from a sales order.
Should a bill of material contain several other assemblies, the
works order wizard gives you the option of automatically generating
a chain of works orders for any sub-assemblies that may be required.
Selecting the works order option on a sales order displays a works
order wizard to guide you through the generation of works orders.

Once works orders have been generated, they are listed in the
objectdrill window and can be accessed from here or via the works
order daybook.
Issuing parts to a works order is simple and issue notes can also
be printed to go with the goods. Component parts can easily be swapped
with alternatives and unders/overs are easily managed. Bar charts
at the bottom of each works order show the percentage issued and
built.
Using the ObjectDrill® feature with this module provides you
with an unprecedented view of the status of your assemblies.
Whichever method you have used to generate works orders, you can
simply select ObjectDrill® whilst viewing any transaction which
may relate to a particular works order and it will display a complete
tree of all relevant works orders together with their current status.

In addition to being able to generate a works order directly from
a sales order, you can also generate back-to-back purchase orders
for any component shortages from a works order.
This unique and totally flexible feature also allows you to effectively
allocate the purchase order to the works order, so that when the
goods are received, they are automatically issued to that works
order before becoming available to other transactions in the system.
Here the back-to-back feature is used to create a purchase order
for any shortages on the works order.

A works issue is generated, which in turn will create a journal
for work in progress.
Although WOP is designed to provide a high level of control over
the issuing of stock and monitoring of work in progress, any companies
wishing to bypass these comprehensive stages can easily do so by
using a cut-down version of the module, specifically designed for
companies who simply require works orders without any additional
complexities.
